The CO2 Fractional resurfacing laser is carbon dioxide laser which precisely removes deep outer layers of damaged skin and stimulates the regeneration of healthy skin underneath. The CO2 treats up to moderately deep wrinkles, photo damage, scarring, skin tone and texture. In general, this is the gold standard for advance skin rejuvenation.
The pain level is quite minimal. It is best described as “pins and needles”. After the treatment most patients describe the post-procedure feeling as a bad sunburn for about 12 hours to 2 days.Topical numbing is applied prior to the treatment. It will take 3-6 months for results to fully appear. However, preliminary results are evident in 4 weeks.
Results can last many years and are augmented with a home skin care routine and regular use of sunscreen. What is the downtime? The downtime depends on your regenerative ability. It can be as short as 5 days and as long as 14 days. The skin scabs and peels. Will first have scabs, then will peel. It can stay pink up to 4 weeks.
